I hard relate on so many aspects: the insatiable reading as a child; the worry now that reading feels more of a chore; an inability to concentrate for long; being completely addicted to scrolling even tho it makes me feel crap vs the satisfaction of finishing a good book.
I used to read a couple of books a week at least, now it’s more like 20 a year at a push which is sad. I left my phone in a drawer on holiday for three days recently and read THREE books. It was glorious. But also very revealing - all of that reading energy is now going into crap on Instagram or the news.
I keep promising myself to put my phone away but at home I’m in bad habits. They will have to change soon once my baby arrives as I am keeping her screen free as long as possible *goes online to buy a clock for the bedroom and living room *
